Meet the Hub's new Economic Recovery Corps Fellow: Alaxandria Foreman

The SSU Kricker Innovation Hub is thrilled to introduce Alaxandria Foreman, the Economic Recovery Corps (ERC) Fellow matched with our community to support the 'Elevation of the Innovation District' Project.

With over 500 host applications, the Hub was selected to participate in the first ERC cohort alongside 65 other host sites and fellows leading innovative projects. Officially starting in February 2024, the 65 ERC Fellows and Hosts will come together as a nationwide network of diverse practitioners and leaders with the passion, skills, and vision to advance new ways of doing economic development that promote transformative change and lead to a more just, equitable, and sustainable economy for all.

The ERC Program has the potential to shift the practice of economic development nationwide in an unprecedented manner. Alaxandria will play a pivotal role in gathering input from the strong network of existing partners and local stakeholders to develop a regional technology-based economic development strategy while driving phase two site development for a 0.6-acre site at 3rd and Chillicothe Street. This project will create an anchor for the tech ecosystem and workforce by recruiting more tech companies to hire and locate in newly developed office spaces.

Alaxandria will be living and working in our community for the next 2.5 years, so please give them a warm welcome to Portsmouth!
