Kricker Innovation Hub Entrepreneur Fellows Program

The SSU Entrepreneur Fellows program is a flexible, one-year fellowship designed to introduce SSU students to the core principles of entrepreneurial thinking and innovation. This program blends theoretical learning with practical experience, offering Fellows the opportunity to develop the skills and mindset needed to succeed in the world of entrepreneurship.

Students will need to enroll in BUMG 4999 to participate in the Fellows Program.

BUMG 4999: Entrepreneur Fellows 1

During the Fall Semester, Fellows will engage in entrepreneurial mindset training, exploring essential concepts such as opportunity recognition, value creation, and resilience. Through interactive workshops and seminars, students will also enhance their soft skills, including leadership, communication, and adaptability, while receiving mentorship from experienced professionals in the local business community. This course is open to all majors.

BUMG 4999: Entrepreneur Fellows 2

In the Spring Semester, Fellows have the option to continue developing their business concepts and participate in further professional development activities. Participation in local and national pitch competitions, including the Ignite Portsmouth Boot Camp hosted by the Kricker Innovation Hub, is encouraged but entirely optional. Those who choose to pitch will have the opportunity to showcase their ideas to potential investors and explore avenues for securing capital. BUMG 4999 Entrepreneur Fellows 1 should be a pre-requisite. Special consideration can be given for unique situations.

This fellowship is designed to be adaptable to each student's goals, providing the flexibility to either fully commit to the entrepreneurial path or simply explore the possibilities within a supportive learning environment. Whether or not Fellows choose to pitch or continue in the spring, they will gain valuable insights and experiences that will serve them in their future careers.
