The 2021 Ignite Portsmouth Entrepreneurial Journey Bootcamp
On May 20th, the Kricker Innovation Hub will partner with Tri-State Angel Investment Group and the LIGHTS Regional Innovation Network to host the 2021 Ignite Portsmouth: Entrepreneurial Journey Boot Camp.
Ignite Portsmouth is for aspiring entrepreneurs who need help getting their compelling business idea off the ground. It is a six-session virtual training that will help you turn your vision into a viable business venture, even if you have no previous business experience, while learning from a professional business coach without having to leave the comfort of your own home.
Boot camp participants will learn how to utilize business model canvas, market their product or services, and more. The training will culminate in a business pitch competition with a possible prize pool of up to $5,000 cash, professional business mentoring services and an opportunity to pitch your idea to the Tri-State Angel Investment Group.
“Offering programming like this is really exciting, and the next step in the development of the Kricker Innovation Hub,” says KIH Director David Kilroy. “The Hub is all about fostering the growth of startups and small businesses in our area. What better way to do that than to highlight folks with ideas for new businesses and product, and show that these ideas can become reality! Not to mention an opportunity to offer an incentive as part of the pitch competition thanks to the Tri-State Angel Investment Group … this is just a great opportunity for folks in our area.”
Win or lose, all participants will walk away with valuable tools and education that will set them up for success in their chosen field of enterprise.
“If you have a business idea – or even a very small existing business – I urge you to sign up,” says Program Coordinator Derrick Parker. “The commitment is only two hours each week over six weeks. Make the time. You’ll be glad you did. Even if you don’t walk away with a cash prize, you’ll still have the knowledge you need to advance your idea.”
Each session will be facilitated by Arianna Ulloa-Olavarrieta. Arianna is the Executive Business Coach for the LIGHTS Regional Innovation Network who specializes in consulting with new and small businesses. With 15 years of experience in running her own business and helping other entrepreneurs, Ariana has a talent for helping good ideas become great businesses.
Registration is free and open to all individuals 18 or older who reside in Scioto, Lawrence, Pike, Jackson, and Adams counties in Ohio, and Lewis and Greenup counties in Kentucky. Individuals who have started a business within the past year are welcome to apply, but no franchises or multi-level marketing companies will be considered.
